It’s easy to find a reliable vehicle at our used car dealership. Many of the cars offered here at I.G. Burton Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM of Smyrna have many more miles left to drive, but an inspection can help you determine whether or not a used vehicle is right for you.

Not sure what to look for? Our guide to used car inspections can help.

The Exterior

You’ll want to check the exterior for damage and rust. Check the body panels and see how they’re held together. Sometimes a hasty repair can be easy to notice. A car that’s been in an accident might still be a good choice, but you want to know exactly what you’re getting into when you buy a vehicle.

Check the windshield and other glass for cracks or other damage. You’ll want to get any small cracks fixed quickly because they can easily become large ones. Finally, check the tires and make sure that they are in good condition and free from damage. They should all be the same brand and look like they’re around the same age as well.

Under the Hood

Pop the hood and look at the belts and hoses for cracks and other signs of damage. The battery connectors should be corrosion-free. If not, you may need a new one. Check fluid levels as well.

The Interior

Open and close all of the doors to make sure that the rubber seals are all in good condition. Check all of the seats for rips and other signs of damage. Then take a look at the roof. Is it sagging in some places? That could be an indicator of water damage.

Once you’ve looked over your car and decided that it’s the vehicle for you, we’ll help you drive away in it. Just remember to take good care of it and schedule appointments at our RAM service center whenever you need maintenance. We look forward to assisting you!
